this is the 9th times this event is being held, since it first founded in early 2009. their tagline “A Curated Market of All Things Cool” does really shown by the blast of people who attracted to come and visit this market. when i first stepped on the fifth floor of Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta, i was stunned by the crowd of people who looked enthusiast to plunge and explore things inside this Brightspot, even it was the last day.
a day before, a friend told me that the number of people who came to attend this event was unbelievable and it almost looked like a traditional market crowd even the organizer had already made a wide access for people to explore and wide segment for each venue. so, the rumor i heard about Brightspot that this event was going to be the most anticipated fashion market in 2013, is true. i witnessed that Brightspot with the goal of showcasing young, independent fashion and product designers along side unique retailers and international streetwear brands has become the front-runner for new fashion and style in Indonesia. it was proven by the number of visitors from various backgrounds who came to look for references and interest about whats new these days.
there were more than 100 indie brands here and those various brands’ products are including shoes, clothes, jeans, bags, coats, watches, gadgets accessoris, books, glasses, stationary, and many more (including foods and beverages) that come from local and international brands. these are some photos i took during my visit
